> Stock was up today due to addition to S&P Midcap 400

If that's true, then how come it shot up 6 1/4 with a strong rally towards the conference? (Just curious...) The announcement of the S&P Midcap 400 came early Tues., so it should have had an effect on Wed. It went up normally with everyone else because of the improving Asian market thing.

The highlights of what's going on is already on Yahoo. They announced the merger of PGP at the conference. (Apparently, someone got hold of the posting before the conference, so the stocks probably shot up because of that.)

They mentioned (not Bill) mentioned that the combined is comfortable with the 4Q earnings. Billy Boy was asked if next year's earnings looks comfortable and he sounded very confident about it when he said yes. There were some other stuff they mentioned about as far as the merger is concern. (Too many numbers and variables for me!) Bill didn't promise that there would be no layoffs (and it would likely be in sales and engineering if that were the case) but Bill mentioned something about hiring a LOT more engineers and sales people (realignment of corporate goals from the sounds of it.) So NO BIG LAYOFFS here!!!

I wish I had the transcript of this conference, but I'm just an amateur stockholder typed in stuff as I heard and understand it. (Heck, I got the conference number through this thread today.)

Narotham, Paul, AlienTech: Did you hear the conference today? A lot of the detailed stuff went over my head. Help!!!

Cheers,
Joanna
