Back for another lesson....I see you had nothing of any substance in reply to my post...just useless banter:
> I thought you were working with equipment that was already online and need high level routing changes. Wrong...I design, and oversee the implementation, choosing to do the core devices myself. I leave a turn-key, documented network for a happy customer to manage and maintain. My designs don't need "high level routing changes". You ever hear of dynamic routing? ;-) You should read up on OSPF, PNNI, BGP, NLSP....no, you had better start with RIP.<VBG> Make that RIP version I! <ROFL> My networks don't need modifications. Only changes if the requirements change. Is this a new concept for you? Any small network design changes that are needed can be done usually by the customer when they hand it to the day-to-day operations router-dweebs like yourself who sit at a help desk answering phones.
>You say Intranets do not have OOB modems? Now if you had read my post you would have noted that I said classified intranets. I have deployed four in the last year alone, and not one of them was allowed to have out-of-band management per the security policy. I even designed one (for the IETF conference next Fall in Mineapolis,MN) that is unclassified, but the IETF and State Department require that only OOB access be used during initial deployment. Your lack of knowledge in this area is really quite suprising...even for a newbie-wannabee like yourself. I see that reliable, hacker-tight, networks are a new concept for you.
>Trying to impress the ASND crowd with bogus information is not helping your low techness. Your "low techness"??? Can I use that I line??? I love it! I bet you pick up all kinds of babes with that coolest of cool techno-weenee garb. <VBG>
>Cisco should be ashamed to give out CCIE's to the clueleCisco should be ashamed to give out CCIE's to the clueless Again you show your lack of knowledge of the field you claim is your proffession. Yes, I sent Cisco $5 and two Cisco Router proofs of purchase and got my CCIE.;-)
I see you even messed up with that HEXen wand of yours....you took a whole 3 paragraphs to explain out of band management, even to the point of describing a software "A-B..." switch so the site only needs one analog line. Yes, I remember my days as a phone-op, having to dial into "other peoples networks" to verify line problems, etc. It lasted a hole 2 months. But I see you like it so much you have decided to make a career out of it. Boy if your boss saw you posting durring working hours! You do have a job, right? I have heard that it turnover is a problem with most help desks.
