Will Obama be generous enough to see that $5,000,000 goes to a charity of his choice if he will release his birth records and college records? Interesting offer by Trump...why would he not jump at that offer?

The 66-year-old made his announcement through a YouTube video on Twitter and Facebook at 12pm EDT (5pm BST) on Tuesday, stating he was willing to write the cheque to a charity of Mr Obama’s choice if the president released the information.

Mr Trump also stated his offer would run out on October 31, a week for the US elections.

The billionaire had earlier hyped-up his announcement, telling Fox and Friends: ‘[I have] something very, very big concerning the president of the United States.

‘It's going to be very big. I know one-thing – you will cover it in a very big fashion.’

Mr Trump previously drew criticism for his actions over the ‘birther conspiracy’ when he continually called on the president to prove he was not born in Kenya.

The White House eventually put the issue to bed when in 2011 Mr Obama’s birth certificate was released, showing the president had been born in Hawaii and not Africa as Mr Trump had insisted.
