>>Do you have any association with BSD Medical in any capacity?
Is this the number one holding in your portfolio?
Forgive me for asking, but your posts have the feel of promotional material. If that is not the case, I will look into this stock, although I am generally leery of buying "story" stocks.<<
No forgiveness needed for asking pertinent questions. And yes, story stocks can certainly be risky. But, over the last two years, the BSD medical story has definitely left the mystery-story category. I think there are now ample reasons for investing in it – that is, patience will very likely be rewarded. And, “ripe” is justified, IMO.
Actually, I do have a connection to BSD Medical, but not really an association. And, it does not give me a *conflicting* interest. I get a small amount of royalties (minute, compared to my stock interest) from some tech I sold to them long ago; and this adds slightly to my interest. More important, the royalties indicate I have considerable understanding of their tech! And, the “promotional” feel of my posts is just an honest expression of that understanding – and of recent marketing success that has been revealed over the past 12 months (in a Webinar and a couple of CCs and a number of news releases).
Yes, BSDM is presently my overwhelming stock position -- starting about two years ago, when I saw their long struggles reaching fruition. That is, not only some impressive products developed but several FDA approvals gained (and the products are also approved in many foreign countries; earlier than for the U. S.).
A key reason BSDM is lagging, IMO, is that the story sounds implausible: treating “mighty” cancer simply by heating, rather than by using powerful SURGERY or RADIATION or CHEMICALS. But, the undeniable fact is that cancerous -- and healthy -- tissue is highly susceptible to temperature! The necessary development is equipment that can remotely heat just the tumors – and *that* does take some doing! The key is in using numerous small antennas located around the body (but not touching it) – phased so their individually weak emission patterns (“fields”) constructively add (“interfere”) at the tumor. This is a very powerful form of “focusing”, because the fields add quadratically for heating – eight such fields can give 64 times the heating power of one! And, 24 small antennas – three sets of eight– are used in the BSD-2000 series. Since the small focus spot depends on the individual amplitudes and phases of the many antennas, it is electronically controllable to anywhere within the enclosed body! Also, this means the heating can be dynamically controlled -- spot rapidly moved around -- to heat irregularly shaped tumors! And, in the most advanced machine – the BSD-2000/3d/MRI – the resulting temperature patterns, as well as the tumor itself and other organs, tissue, and bone, are all highly visible, in detailed images! Make no mistake, this is a truly amazing advance in cancer therapy. And, yet further, it is, from MANY trials, evidently the one that is safest and with fewest side effects! So, why should I not be enthusiast?
If the above is not enough, heating to lesser temperatures than tumor-killing (ablating) levels is well-proven to strongly enhance regular radiotherapy and chemotherapy! So, is it not expectable that heating will become the most important modality for cancer therapy? (Though that event is not necessary for BSDM to soar.) But please don’t ask how long that will take! My guess is that BSD Medical will soon be profitable – that could actually be so now, or very soon -- but it is anyone’s guess. My view is that BSDM is a rather sure thing, long run, and with very large gains probable -- but some patience may still be necessary. |
