A nine-and-a-half-year-old girl got a harsh lesson in partisan politics on Tuesday morning when she announced on MSNBC that she supported Mitt Romney for president.
The crowd gathered for a live taping of 'Morning Joe' booed little Annabelle for voicing her Republican choice on the liberal-leaning cable network.
Even host Joe Scarborough and co-host Willie Giest were horrified.
'She's nine, for God's sake,' Scarborough shouted at the crowd.
Annabelle was featured for a segment on the MSNBC morning show called 'What did you learn today?' She clung to host Mika Brzezinski as she was introduced.
Annabelle, Brzezinski, explained, has four older brothers.
When Scarborough asked her who she thinks should win the election, she offered: 'Mitt Romney.' The live audience in Boca Raton, Florida, instantly began booing.
'I'm with you, Annabelle. Thank you so much. You're a wise, wise girl,' Scarborough, a former Republican Congressman, told her.
The he turned to Giest and asked him 'What have you leaned today?' Geist said: 'Booing a nine-year-old girl...' Brzezinski hugged little Annabelle tightly after the crowd's harsh reaction.
The crowd had gathered for a post-debate edition of the MSNBC morning show, turning out in Boca Raton at 5.30am |
