Thank you for your reassurance. Nevertheless, is it not true that a privileged member of the Mormon church has to abide by the order from the president of the church or be excommunicated?

Note that I have met many Mormons in my life, and they are decent and nice people. As a matter of fact, when I was a consultant in Jakarta, Indonesia, there were two young Mormon missionaries who came to the house and wanted to talk about the Mormon faith. They were clean cut boys and were very friendly and polite. So, I have no doubt that Mitt is a good family man. My concern is the strict rule of the Mormon church which starts with the mandatory tithing of 10% of your gross income. I know that OTOH if that family is in trouble, the church will provide financial help.

Just the threat of excommunication is that concerns me.
