Quiet as she slips ... A little blurb re: MACR & Deja News from InfoBeat (Not too exciting).

Deja News Inc. (www.dejanews.com), originally a search engine for
newsgroups on the Internet, has bigger plans. The company
announced Monday it has secured $10 million in new equity capital.
The Internet Capital Group led this round with a $7 million
investment. The ICG's managing director, Kenneth A. Fox, said Deja
News "has the opportunity to become the ubiquitous brand for
discussion and community on the Internet." One of the company's
new ventures is to become an archivist of discussion groups. Deja
News CEO Guy Hoffman said the University of California at Berkeley
and Macromedia Inc. have becoming the first organizations to agree
to have their discussion forums stored on Deja News' Web site.
Hoffman said "Many companies are creating virtual communities to
promote their products and services and discussion forums are the
foundation of these efforts." A Macromedia spokesman explained the
company is "transitioning our online support to newsgroup and
Web-based resources. It is crucial that our newsgroup content be
easily and widely accessible."
