Pairgain had a conference call today to update investors on current events and indicated that despite the stock price volatility, the outlook hasn't changed. Though they are surprised to see Adtran continuing to drop prices, PAIR management believes Adtran's discounting will not lead to major market share gains and that the RBOC's are more concerned with total cost and compatablitiy than with simple list prices. PAIR believes Adtran only has price to sell b/c of PAIR's functionality superiority. PAIR has told customers that they will not leave them out to dry and that they will lower pricing near the same rate of Adtran.

PAIR backed consensus expectations of $75-76mm in revenues for Q4 and $.17 EPS and said the 'quarter looks fine.' Revenues will surely be lumpy but Pairgain looks well-positioned to grow on an annual basis and the valuation looks good in the very low-20's.
