It's about average on the Microsoft Patheticity Scale, which was developed by a social scientist named Fierce Bob McGillicuddy to measure, by inference, the level of desperation and panic within Microsoft.

I'd compare it with having to hire Nicki Minaj to draw a crowd at a product launch. But that's probably not fair. I mean, who's going to show up anywhere to see Steve Ballmer?
