"Sleek tablet , but clumsy software", was how the Msft Surface was described in the N.Y. Times recently. I would expect that Nok had at least something to do with the design of the excellent hardware in the Surface. Msft collects fees through licensing its software to its partners, including Nok. I am not aware that Nok collects any fees from licensing its hardware to Msft or to the W8 partners.(although I understand Msft is contributing to the marketing of Lumia handsets.) There has been some discussion that Sam and Htc have been using hardware ideas borrowed from Nok. Do you think it would not be inappropriate to ask Sam and Htc to pay for these hardware ideas (or for that matter, software ideas)?
