>> Sleek tablet , but clumsy software

OT:

If you play with the Surface, you will quickly realize it is an amazingly polished product, in both software and hardware. It is also a very powerful productvity tool, with a real trackpad with click-mouse, and a real tactile keyboard integrated into an ultra-thin cover. An amazing feat of technology. It is touch-first, and the experience of Windows RT is near identical to that of Windows 8.

There is a learning curve.

The hardware makes this an absolutely stunning halo device for the RT family.

I was quite disappointed with Pogue's review. This is a device with a good amount of hardware and driver support (remarkable in a new OS), amazingly integrated with several clouds; child friendly features, multi-user and a dramatic visual experience.

In my view, business is slow to adopt new OS's; but certainly within year its going to be abundantly clear to all that Stella got her groove back.

I am 100% confident that MS competitors will be thoroughly copying all elements they can get away with. OS's without both fine pointer and touch support are going to fall by the wayside (on other than sub $200 7 inchers or sub $400 10 inchers). Toy budgets are much lower than business tool budgets.

Productivity matters. And MS Office in RT makes these devices a compelling value.
