In a criminal investigation, you don't report publicly what you know. The higher priority is finding out what happened, and to catch the perpetrator(s), and in this case, where plenty of people, even children, want to be martyrs, not to give an open invitation to some one or more to "admit" and take the fall. We want to apprehend and bring to justice, those who committed the crime. Romney has played politics with this from before it happened.

Very unsophisticated and very un-Presidential.

And many of his unsophisticated followers have followed him.
