Less than six weeks to Zenith's debut of HDTV and Divx at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. My read is that HDTV will be the hottest item at the show and, according to CEMA, it will be very well covered by the press/media:
PRESS AND MEDIA COVERAGE AT CES
Over 2,600 members of the press/media were present at the 1997 Show, and the Show received outstanding "live" television coverage, much of which was focused on the exhibitors. Both CNBC and CNN were almost continuously live from the show floor, and all three networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) morning shows were televised live from Las Vegas. In addition, MSNBC, Fox, E! Entertainment News, Entertainment Tonight, The Home and Garden Network, and many other television and cable programming producers covered the Show.
At the 1997 Show, the print media included representatives from Time, Newsweek, and Business Week along with AP, Reuters, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune,Houston Chronicle, Miami Herald, Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and many others. During the week of the Show, 39 of the top 50 newspapers carried a story about the Show and its exhibitors.
The list below is a representative sample of the domestic and international press present at the 1997 Show. We expect even more press will be present at the 1998 International CES!
