Jorg, good posts. Insurance is important. Nobody disagrees with that. Good decision making is important. There is a disagreement over that...when one uses the word can't, at my companies it means they do not want to solve a problem. If you can hold a shovel, you can find a job that offers health insurance. If you can push a broom you can get health insurance...in some cases you will be over paid. In other circumstances you will earn not enough to live a great life. You may need two jobs because of your poor job skills. That is the reality of the market compensating you for what you contribute. There are many jobs unfilled right now that require little skills that offer benefits, and we see people preferring to not work. (I sit on the board of two job centers in Wisconsin) There is an issue of responsibility which does not receive enough attention. By not covering it, society continues to move to the "lazy"left...
