I would say that MANY Flags RODE VN to Senior Leadership. I cleaned up part of the mess the made as an O-4 and O-5, incl commanding a Battalion, in the 25th Inf Div, 1974-80. I like to think the effort of many of my peers and their NCOs made the Gulf War Invasion such a brilliant fight! One of my classmates commanded a Mech Division (with a great friend as his Deputy CG, that did a superb job.
