Agreed on your points about Obama's advisers. However, I think you underestimate Romney. He didn't get to be a successful businessman by being stupid. And you may not remember, but Obama didn't know much about foreign policy either. I think Obama's had some of the right instincts on foreign policy, but I'd still give him a B/B+. I think he failed in Benghazi and I think he failed with Putin. But he's done ok otherwise. Truth be told, I think I mostly give Hillary the credit for Obama's foreign policy. Hillary is the most traveled SecState in decades. She's been a workhorse for Obama and she gets no credit.

Romney will find his bearings, if he gets to office. The challenger never has as much information as the incumbent on foreign policy. That's significant disadvantage.
