You are going to "punish" the oligarchy? LOL.. Maybe you can take a lesson from the French. When you attempt to punish the oligarchy, you are attempting to punish the group that has the highest ability to "pack up and leave", and take their economic assets they possess with them.
Here is an idea for you. Lets incendivize citizens to work harder and make more money. Instead of punishing those who work harder and earn more income by raising the tax rate. Maybe the tax rate should go DOWN one percent for every additional 50,000 dollars in Earned Income?
You used to have to reach for the Brass Ring.. Now they throw it on the ground, and tell the masses to line up for the program. I have a part-time employee that I recently offered to move to "full-time". I thought he would jump at full time with insurance. He told me he couldn't afford to go full-time. He is on Section 8 housing, food stamps, etc. Easier not to work too hard and line up for some entitlement.
And so it goes.
