As you can see, this is decidedly not heroic. It's actually quite abysmal. Both Bush Jr and Obama have been abysmal Presidents when it comes to job creation. Keep in mind that to keep pace with civilian labor force growth, we typically need to grow about 125K NEW jobs per month.

Agreed. However, you forget that Bernanke and Obama are engaging in the mother of all trickle down economics with their trillion dollar deficits and massive money printing campaigns. These funds primarily increase the riches of the wealthy, with the hope that some of it trickles down. I agree with you that it doesn't work. So we should stop doing those things. Now, one thing Obama has done is massively increased the welfare state. I also think this does not work. In fact, most of Obama's policies do not work. They are all intended to be short term sugar highs, but they do nothing to address the structural issues. - mindmeld
