These programs are being paid for out of current revenues. Your money and mine, that we've put in for decades, is gone.

If this is news to you, then I hate to break that to you, but I'm sure you knew that. These are ponzi schemes. Nothing more. You and I are paying for the retired folks now and we are hoping our kids will pay for us. That is the very definition of a ponzi scheme.

Again, this is why Socialism doesn't work. They always rely on ponzi-like devices to fund their programs. Had Social Security been set up with your money going into a bank account exclusively for your use, then it would have been sustainable. But they didn't set it up that way. Socialists never set things up in such a way to make them sustainable. Instead, Socialism always rests on the simple premise that it is ok to steal from one group of people to give to another. That's why it is a failed ideology. In this case, Social Security is stealing from future generations to pay for today's retired folks. That's immoral.

Raise the taxes to pay for today's expenditures. If the American people believe these programs are worth it, then we should put the full burden of the taxation on today's tax payers. Then it won't be theft. Anything that requires future generations to pay for it, when they can not vote to protect themselves, is simply immoral and is theft.
