Bob, You quote retail book store sales at $5.6 mm for 1996 in the US. BKS and BGP combined for $4.4 mm. They're good, but I don't think they accounted for 79% of the market.

Your numbers seem low to me. I'll try to find accurate data. My source for $10 billion internet sales was Value Line; however, their reports have been updated. I can't remember my source for worldwide sales of $87 mm, but I'll go back to earlier AMZN posts and find it for you. I know you don't want to slog through old posts, but there's a lot of good data there.

The basis for my year 2000 - $1 mm AMZN revenue projection is their current growth curve and a 10% share of $10 mm internet market in the year 2000. I have heard that their current internet book market share is closer to 60%.
