You have a one track mind about this free market bullshit. In California education costs rose when prop 13 was passed limiting taxation and the state started spending less on schools. The problem with high costs for students is the right wing keeps cutting public support, os th eindividual has to pcik up the tab.

I earned my way through 6 years. Teh first four in California and it was vdery affordable. It is best to taxt the people and have a strong public school system. Better education too. You know what you get with charter schools. A lot of religious dogma which is antithetical to education.

It is indoctrination!

<<koan, do you know when college started costing so much? I'll tell you. We can trace it back to when the government started their student loan programs. In my father's day, he could work while going to college and he could pay it off, while in school. When I went, I had to get loans, but was able to pay it off within 5 years of graduating. When my kids go, I'm going to have to spend several times the amount most Americans retire with to get them out with no loans.

I say end the government's involvement in the free markets. This is again socialism at work. It distorts every market it is allowed to proliferate in.
