I remember sitting across the table from a senior NYSE "guy" not too long ago who talked my ear off for half an hour complaining about how traders were wreaking havoc on his 401k. All without the tiniest hint of irony.

Looks like "3 feet of water" may be a bogus rumor, although it does appear both NYSE and Nasdaq will be closed for a second day.
