It has a built in traceroute facility, so you can find the route from you to anywhere. That way, you don't have to mess with a Unix shell access to your ISP. here is the first place that popped up in an AltaVista search: ccs.org Keep in mind that most decent ISPs have multiple routes to the backbone, and the route out of your ISP make take a different path depending on your ultimate destination. It all depends on how they have optimized their routing tables, and it can change from one day to the next.
