"I wonder why Americans are not willing to pay for that out of current tax revenues, though? " Not hard to figure out. In my lifetime testing of American Students has taken our kids from number one in the world to somewhere in the 30's I believe. This is despite the fact that on an inflation adjusted basis we spend more on education than we ever did. Clearly money is not the problem. The establishment will not face the fact that the education system in this country is not designed to educate children, but it is a jobs program for teachers. lj
