That would sort of depend upon what the demand is, and their supply constraints.

As far as I know, Apple isn't even selling the iPad mini in stores yet. Do you think they will have zero available to sell in their stores on the launch date? X-D

If Apple has underallotted towards pre-orders, or undersupply towards pre-orders, there is little information in that statement.

Selling the mini for $329; with the $399 iPad 2 available, does nothing but cannibalize. Regular households don't buy multiple tablets.

If I hear $299, I at least think different price class than $399. The $329 price was rather dopey.

Personally, I'd say even $299 for a miniature tablet is over the top.

Perhaps I don't understand the market, and it may do well at $329. There are some gaming console bundles in that range, but they tend to be the high-end ones; the exception - not the rule.
