hello gc - to answer both questions. No, I normally don't think about mergers (unless I got real desperate <vbg>.) However, sometimes I got into musings about this & that.

I ve not followed AXNT. It seems that it is strong(er) in the enterprise (UNIX?) while RAPT thus far shows a lot of strength on NT (and NT has turned out to be less scalable as it was once touted.) I think there is an incursion into that segment of the mkt even though EAGLE NT and the WALL are holding up well. It is hard to say how good RAPT's VPN products fare. Therefore, it does make sense to cover more territories and be able to sell to both the enterprise and the departmental servers. Many benefits like one-stop shoping, cross pollinations, consolidation of SG&A etc. The headache is to merge the organizations quickly and eliminate all redundancies ASAP - but most important, to blend the 2 cultures. I don't know a whole lot about the details, so someone may want to help to fill in the gap.

Again, I think RAPT shr price will actually be held back by this merger - at least near term.
