Hal: I haven't had the time to look into Efficient, but it seems they aren't interested in the DSLAM device. They offer the ATM customer premise equipment. Telechoice indicates that Westell lacks knowledge in the area, and is looking to acquire the technology. I'm going to research Efficient to see if we need to add them to the list of possible Westell purchases. ....Westell's Gary Seamans on the conference call today said to look out for more activity on the Westell strategic relationships front. That was code words for "Now that we've gotten rid of this venture, we're looking for some more acquisitions to make." TeleChoice expects that activity to focus on places like ATM and low-cost cards, where Westell needs a stronger message. So expect more mergers/acquisitions too... telechoice.com As it related to the Bell Atlantic contract, DSC/Westell won a 4 year combined award. What Efficient equipment goes into the DSC Litespan unit? .,..Under the terms of the agreement, DSC Communications will use Efficient Networks' SpeedStream 3030 ADSL PC adapter as a CPE solution to complement DSC's Litespan Optical Loop Carrier, an advanced SONET-based GR-303 Digital Loop Carrier... >> What if DSC ousts WSTL to go with Efficient for the BA contract (assuming Efficient develops products to go into Litespan shelves)? << I don't think DSC is making the call... until later.
