Hi David: You are on the front lines and have been getting blasted from many on this thread. Remember we "investors" have a vested interest and perhaps reflect our views from this point. However, many have too short of time period when evaluating this investment. Novell is not going to die and the opportunity is theirs to gain.

I guess my view is that you see the results of the previous management (or mis-management) from the last several years. New management is the key for a long sustained turnaround. I truly believe you will see this in the months and years to come. The big question is if their is enough time for this to occur and as reflected by the technology changes in the last year and those yet to be developed, Novell has the resources and the talent to capitalize in this market.

If this was an IPO entering the market with state-of-the-art technology, Novell would be an excellent 'speculative' investment as they are well capitalized and have many resources going forward. It's the baggage they carry with them that they must discard and begin from the begining; establishing partnerships, alliances, and especially those VAR relationships.

Perhaps, you can view Novell's new products from this approach and as a VAR propose new innovative solutions to the company which benefit the customer and your bottom line (ie. VAR shared marketing, VAR incentives for customer system 'solutions', etc). This is what will move the overall growth and technology forward in this competitive market. Novell needs their VAR's and they are a critical component to engineering and implementing customer solutions( ie. RESULTS!)

EKS

P.S. Novell must listen to their customers regarding new products but also they should listening to their VAR's.
