Doug - just go to their website and play around configuring systems. You can get a Optiplex Gn Low profile Desktop, 166Mhz, 32MB, 2.1GHD, 24xCDROM, S3Trio64V2 w/ 2MB video, USB, Win95, all the management goodies like DMI 2.0, ACPI and APM 1.2, Ultra DMA, all for $1172 (monitor not included). Their new NetPC is the same, minus the CDROM but with a nice 15" monitor and wake-on-LAN for ~$1250.
It's designed as a corporate system and quite different from a home system. For instance, did you know that systems designed to be connected to a corporate net give NIC interrupts higher priority so they can burst data across the PCI bus more efficiently? Just a little tidbit for all the folks who have trouble distinguishing between the home and business PC.
Also, check out the value they offer at the high end for home systems. Compare feature for feature against the competitors and then look at the price. Educated repeat buyers will soon be buying more systems from Dell.
Cheers,
