Today, WSJ reported that according to people familiar with the situation, Microsoft is working with component suppliers in Asia to test its own smartphone design. But they are still not sure whether the device will go into mass production. Also the device is said to be featuring a screen size of 4-5 inches. Last month, we reported on a rumor that Microsoft is working with Huawei and MediaTek for its own smartphone and the rumor is in line with what WSJ reported today. Even China Times reported the same last month that Microsoft has selected a manufacturing partner to assemble the handsets as well.

From all these reports, one can infer that Microsoft is definitely working on its own mobile device. But the real question is, When?

Do you expect a Microsoft branded device soon?
