I never bought that there was some special new category of "Post-PC devices", marked by the lack of certain input type devices, and operated by low power battery operated processors, etc. What Microsoft and you just can't grasp, living in your uber Geek worlds, is that 95% of people at least 50% of the time and probably more than 50% of people all the time have zero need for a PC with "additional input methods, mouse/fine pointing device input and tactile keyboard input". 50% or less, probably truly much less, need a true PC with all the bells and whistles at their job. Maybe 10 - 15% want one at home. Others use their tablet at home for reading or writing short e-mails or text messages, reading books, blogs, Twitter, whatever, web surfing, looking at photos. To them Surface with all its extra weight and extra inputs, mouse pointing and its keyboard are useless additions. |
