LOL. I make her happy by not by having too many political discussions with her. :) She's not virulently on any side either. Mostly, like most Americans, we're concerned with the economic future of this country and whether we're leaving a better, more prosperous country for our kids. So that's how we mostly vote. Right now, she has many of the same misgivings you all do about Romney. I do too. However, I'm more focused on monetary policy and how that is the root cause of all the evil we're seeing. As Keynes said, "not one man in a million can diagnose it". So it is not shocking to me that most people on this thread either don't know what I'm talking about or think I'm crazy for focusing on that.
But as I've said before, the Dems and GOP are largely irrelevant. The bankers control this country and the sway they have is wreaking havoc. I want them controlled. As long as Bernanke is in place, we have zero chance of that. In fact, we have zero chance of that with a Volcker-type either. But at least, under a Volcker or Taylor, we'll get something approaching currency stability, which limits the massive stealth tax. To me, these are bigger macro issues that, if resolved, will moderate a lot of the symptoms of this financial crisis. Anyway, I know I'm wasting air. No one, but a few, on this thread seems to agree with me, and that's ok. That's America after all. :) |
