11/2/12 Contest Update
It was a storm-tossed week, with hurricane Sandy beating up the East Coast and shutting down U.S. markets Monday & Tuesday. The three days that trading did take place were not good ones for biotechs.
At Friday’s close, the Contest median was up 25.08% YTD (vs. up 28.56% YTD a week ago). In comparison, the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 25.94% YTD (vs. up 29.84% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 14.47% YTD (vs. up 14.69% YTD a week ago).
RKRW’s portfolio, up 111.74% YTD, remained in first place with a large lead. GENE’s portfolio, up 62.52% YTD, edged into second place and DONS’ portfolio, up 61.64% YTD, slipped to third place.
At Friday's close, 4 of the 38 Contest portfolios were in the red, with 16 of the 38 portfolios still beating the NBI.
