FWIW, I"m a family doc who has dozens of patients on Rezulin. Most are relieved to be on the drug because the only alternative is insulin injections. Most are on other medications which they are on require lab drawn every 3-4 months anyway(lipid lowering meds, diuretics, etc.) Unless they(WLA) downright pull they drug off the market, I don't plan to change my Rx habits at all. 99% of these patients have medical plans that cover the cost of the drug and the required testing. If you were a patient and your choice was this drug or daily insulin injections, what would you do? I think the prudent thing to do is wait and see if these patients with reactions had underlying hepatic dysfunction or this is a drug interaction or idiosyncratic reaction. I would expect significant liver pathology to surface earlier in the drug trials. Good Luck All, Rich Cohen
