Brad, I hope you're right on Diebold. But it would have been nicer if they'd gone with fingerprints to start. They did take a look at it, according to the release. (Maybe it was a SACM system.) Now they'll take a couple years or so on this deal. And if FINX has a technical advance IDX would be in the best position to pick it up in a fire sale.
I'm a contrarian on China. True, no Ratman. True, enormous population. True, growing economy. But . . . I've never seen any major deals with China or Russia by US companies (exclusive of Pepsi sales in the USSR). We'll have to look up the size of the Chinese economy, but I'll bet you it's pretty small. Finally, a country like China will rip off as much US technology as it can. The US did it to England in the 19th century. Japan did it to us after World War II. China and Hong Kong do it now. If we got a China contract, it would not be a bonanza, and it could turn into a headache.

PS -- You know you have the corner office down at Commission Headquarters, and I'm down the hall near the restroom.
PPS -- Buck, I feel I can give you an assignment after I singlehandledly got the INS legislation passed. Get IDX to work on Kidzkard and your association. Thanks. |
