Asian business people that I've dealt with are very nice and friendly. But they have businesses in decent neighborhoods. The ones Ted is talking about are the ones who bought or built in crime-ridden neighborhoods because the rent or purchase price was low. Then they have to cope with the crime losses and the shoplifting and kids just grabbing stuff and running outside. How to stay in business with high crime losses? Jack up the prices. To folks like Ted, its just that the merchants are mean old nasty racists.
