>So many reports of FEMA not being as effective as people expected. Yet Obama and his administration are getting a free pass. It's ridiculous the way the media has covered for Obama:

Oh screw that, Tench. I'm right in the middle of all of it. This is the worst widespread disaster this city has ever seen and it's being handled just fine. FEMA, the Governor (whom I really don't like), and the Mayor (also whom I really don't like) are all doing a great job. It's not perfect, but it's also unprecedented.

I had drinks with two FEMA agents on Friday night and they knew exactly what they were supposed to be doing. It's not a scattered deal at all, aside from the fact that it's tough for them to get hotel rooms here.

Don't fool yourself. You may not like Obama on other things, and I definitely dislike Cuomo and Bloomberg, but at every turn, this City is doing better than I expected.
