Daydream Buys Back
Safecracker

December 2, 1997

Tired of waiting for a North American release,
Daydream Software has bought back the rights to
its upcoming title from GT Interactive and is
looking for a new publisher.

The maker of Safecracker has grown weary of the politics behind
game distribution, and has purchased back the worldwide rights to
it new title from GT Interactive. Daydream Software will now
work closely with Octagon Entertainment, a company that
arranges financing, publishing, and distribution agreements for
game developers.

"We have not been satisfied with the commitment from our
publisher, GT-Interactive Europe, and have become increasingly
frustrated over the lack of marketing and the stalling of a North
American release for Safecracker. We decided the best thing for
all parties was to buy back the publishing and distribution rights. A
deal was struck and Daydream now hold all rights to
Safecracker," says Jan Phersson Broberg, CEO of Daydream
Software.
