to illustrate how bad the gas situation was last Friday.........I live just a mile off the Taconic State Parkway (about 80 miles) north of NYC. The Taconic runs N/S on the east side of the Hudson River starting in the Bronx and running up to near Albany. I had to go 5 gas stations in from the Taconic in my area before I could get gas. People were riding up from NYC and stopping at every Taconic exit (loads of Hispanics) to buy gas in what ever containers they had. Note my area never lost power and saw virtually NO damage from Sandy.
