Vice President Joe Biden said on Sunday that he knew a dozen Republican senators and up to 36 Republican House members who would be willing to work with President Barack Obama after he is reelected.

Appearing on MSNBC's "Hardball" after a campaign rally in Ohio, Biden echoed the president's theory that Republicans' "fever" of opposition would "break" if they won a second term.

I don't agree. I think Dems have to stop expecting Rs to become rational and reasonable. They are seriously messed up. You don't expect a crazy person to get all rational if you slap them across the face. They may for a moment or two but then they will go back to their crazy ways.

Somehow..........and I really don't understand the mechanics of it...........but there is a segment of the population that is disturbed. How they got there is a mystery to me. Their pols used to mask the craziness by making some effort to behave normally in Congress............after all they were more concerned with amassing power and wealth than upsetting the apple cart. However, in the last ten years, the winger crazies saw through the game their pols were playing and have decided to confront them..........and elect some of the crazies directly to Congress. They did a good job of it in 2010 but suspect some of the more extreme crazies will be kicked out during this election. Nonetheless, most of the crazies will be still there. And I don't see the motivation for them to work with Obama.

I don't know how we resolve this impasse. Most of the right believes in myths, econ., religious and political, and are more concerned with their wallets than they are the country. We may have to think in terms of splitting up the country if another way isn't found soon. Its clear we can't continue to operate in this dysfunctional manner.
