TED, I've been following the discussions on the "other" thread between you and that "other" guy. Your first post had me real worried as it was chock full of info and showed a great deal of thought and effort on your part. Thankfully, however, the discussion quickly degraded into a meandering morass of monotony-- perfect for this thread!
So, here are my questions:
===== YOU look at the blank expression in their eyes that indicates they haven't the foggiest notion what you're talking about.
I'm confused. Was it one of those Homer Simpson type "I want doughnuts" type faces, a Bart Simpson type "I wonder if TED's wearing a clip-on tie" expression, or a Grandpa Simpson style "Did I remember to put in my teeth" type stare? ===== ===== If I'm wrong, then I'm wrong. If I'm right, then ... well ... insert your favorite "I told you so" comment here.
Are these the type of expressions you had in mind: 1. "Duh!" -- Homer Simpson 2. "Nyit Nyit Nyit" -- Curly of the Three Stooges 3. "Aw Gee" -- Lenny from "Of Mice and Men" 4. "!!!???" -- Bill the Cat from Bloom County 5. "Slurp" -- Odie from Garfield ===== ===== Programmers or progarmmer-types play a role in just about every step of the process.
So, like what you're saying is that you've actually proven conclusively that lab rats can't be used in lieu of programmers? What about certain barnyard animals? Since "other" tools probably require programmers to write and operate them, doesn't it make this tool just as good as all the others? ===== ===== Or, believe me and others who tell you they aren't the only ones.
So, what you are telling me is that they aren't the only ones? ===== ===== As an aside, if this toolset and process are so perfect, why doesn't everybody use it? Because of competitive claims and successful pilots by more visible vendors, that's why.
In other words, someone has also thought about this idea? Let me clarify; you're saying there exist companies with Y2K tools that actually generate revenue from using them? What have you been smoking? ===== ===== I'll no longer spend time on this subject ...
You mean you've actually found less productive ways to spend your few waking hours? =====
Please respond immediately so I may continue this discussion indefinitely.
