Chrysler is a small part of the US auto buis, and they were already non-US owned once, so not a big deal.

I don't have any problem if it does cost GM and other heavily unionized companies more to raise capital. The marketplace will slowly strangle them or they will be forced to change their model to survive. The key to me is the pace of change, not the direction. I am a capitalist, and I do believe in the marketplace. But I also believe that in times of national crisis, capitalism needs a bit of a populist nudge to ensure that the market actually survives.
