When does the $2,000 penalty for not having health insurance kick in? My wife has very good insurance at her job at Cintas, a fortune 500 company. They have already informed their employees that it will save the company several million dollars per year to drop the insurance and pay the penalty. They will hold out for awhile, but ultimately the cost benefit will overcome and, like millions of other Americans, my wife will lose her insurance. God help us, what a time we are about to endure.
