Don't think that is hard to answer. The tea party brought a lot of new blood into the Republican party. That was overall good for Republican Party, but it created candidates who were not sufficiently vetted, as you would expect. On balance I think TP overall positive for Republican.

I agree with your whole post. TP is good for the Republican Party.

Fresh blood, energy.

Insufficient vetting. The fact that idiots like Akin and Murdoch won primaries, and no one found out they were idiots certainly hurts the whole movement. Because the Dems can have their nuts and freaks, but no one really finds out. When TP has a nuts and freaks, it is daily news in MSM.

Looks like TP hs not learned a thing from 2010 about vetting...
