There does seem to be a natural cleavage in CEO bashing. The feloneous con artists vs the inept corporate killers.

Although the con artist tales are compelling -- and more entertaining -- I find the overblown, self-important CEOs that destroy previously thriving enterprises more insidious and infinitely more dangerous to serious investors.

In this vein, I'd like to second (or is it third now) Johnson of SIII, who captured an enviable marketshare in graphics chips at the cost of any meaningful profit to the company and under his watch had a host of mistated earnings. If Johnson's leadership and business acumen were a fraction of his skill at market timing for the sale of his personal shares, SIII would be a soaring today.

I got out of SIII with a small profit, then watched aghast as it tanked on horrid news of mismanagement and profit shortfalls.

Out of Sight, unSound management, and a Speedy exit for the good Mr. Johnson.

Honorable mention for George Fisher, who seems bent on making Kodak not a household name. As a short seller, I gotta love this guy.
