The Reps will have a rabid young Turk competition, but if they don't address their demographic challenges head on, it won't matter. The numbers just keep getting worse for them.

But as you know better than I do, the House will continue to harbor these types and perhaps add some more in two years. Not only do some of them have, as we all know, very small constituencies. But the effect of redistricting, we also know, has been to exaggerate the extreme tendencies in the Rep party.

Chris Hayes used a phrase last night that I like--assymetric extremism. It's all one side.
