I was confident that Obama would win. By many metrics (which I shan't enumerate), Obama should have lost But given the fact that we are emerging from a serious recession caused almost exclusively by "financial innovation" from the Banking/Hedge fund industry down through the choices of individual Americans "financially innovating" themselves, I'm astonished that a candidate from that very background, and one who refused to disclose his taxes came as close as he did to success. He deserves some acknowledgement, like the Germans on the eastern front in WWII, that he should have come so far.
