The label for XELJANZ (tofacitinib) is bullish for the INCY compound baricitinib (INCB28050) and functionally/structurally related congeners in terms of intended target patient population and its use in second line for RA and not requiring a prior biologic treatment. labeling.pfizer.com I note this passage in terms of the modest burden of LFTs for 5 mg BID XELJANZ (the only dose approved) : "Routine monitoring of liver tests and prompt investigation of the causes of liver enzyme elevations is recommended to identify potential cases of drug-induced liver injury. If drug-induced liver injury is suspected, the administration of XELJANZ should be interrupted until this diagnosis has been excluded." The MSDS for tofacitinib is of interest. pfizer.com
