Mike Allen noted that Paul Ryan will be the chair of the House Budget committee, will plausibly have the most influence of anyone in the House and will be running for President in 2016. Given the makeup of the GOP House and the base, he won't be in much of a mood to compromise on the fiscal cliff. I add--plus he doesn't seem to me to be much of a leader, he seems to me to be a tool of a few crazed monied interests.
