I agree with you completely that the private motivation factor is huge in China. But can you agree that private rights are WAY more respected in the USA than in China?

So why all the wailing about the end of the world for the USA under Obama, if a country like China which is way more repressive and way more centrally planned, and yada yada, is admitted to be doing well.

BTW, I too hope that China's path is towards converging with our freedoms, but I don't think that is assured. I doubt you will see the 2'nd Amendment in China. Its not very useful actually. But I think more robust property rights would be good, and freedom of speech, etc. TWT which values they adopt.
